These lessons are really great. Thanks a lot for posting them. Just an idea for future lessons — how about something showing us how to play above the 5th fret? I’ve got Roy Sakuma’s chord chart book but I’ve found just playing chords in songs that are normally played below the 5th fret up above the 5th fret doesn’t always sound right. Can you post some tips for learning to play above the 5th fret and perhaps some song suggestions for moving chords up and down the neck? Thanks.
Awesome. I’m not one to learn from books because its a lot better if I see it. Thanks for the free lessons. Very much appreciated. Malo
Hi guys. I want to say a big THANKYOU for these free lessons. I started to learn playing the uke 3 weeks ago and you helped me a lot!!!! I learned the chords and strumming techniques and so much more from you guys. Ive leaned to play “somewhere over the rainbow/happy world” and now I am learning “while my guitar gently weeps” . You are amasing!!!! AWESOME!!!!!
So cool of you to show thanks, we have alot more plans for lessons and approaches to showing that. Thank you SO much for the support. Let your friends know! Aloha 🙂
Thanks so much for these lessons, very much appreciated! Im just a begginer but ill be sure to come visit you when Im in Hawaii in October to upgrade my Ukulele. By then I’ll hopefully be much better.
Thanks for taking the time to show your appreciation. We love being able to give what we can. Come see us in Hawai!!!
I really dig your site and lessons! Thanks for taking the time and effort to create such a clear presentation of your art and technique. A great service to us beginners. Keep it up.
We just returned from vacation in Hawaii and we bought a Ukulele for our souvenir. Little did I know that my husband and I would start fighting over who gets to practice the four chords next. I have always played around on the piano. Both daily for two weeks, we have shared the Ukulele and done our chord practice.
We would like to learn Simple Songs to start with. Like Twinkle Twinkle (haha) put with print outs like regular music with the song written out and the chord above the change areas. I am not sure I am making sense. But, we would like to print and practice inbetween your lessons.
Keep it up and we hope if we both get high way decent to order an extra ukulele.
You’re GREAT !!! =)
Thanks so much for the lessons they’ve taught me so much as I’m trying to teach myself the uke. I look forward to seeing more lessons for beginners. It’d be patricularly great to see more common chord progressions and strumming techniques.
Again thanks so much!
I thought it was great when my Leolani Pineapple was delivered from you — wow, the packing in that neat bag was great. Now I’m really enjoying all the lessons. Love the “easy” finger picking song. I can actually do it. Thanks.
